TimeWise is a privacy-first time tracking Chrome extension that helps you monitor your work productivity through intelligent check-ins.

Data Collection

TimeWise collects and stores the following data locally on your device only:

Information We Store Locally:

• Task descriptions you enter during check-ins
• Timestamps of when tasks were logged
• Website context (domain names where you were working)
• Work schedule preferences (work days, hours, frequency)
• Sound and theme preferences
• Completion status of work days

Data Storage

• All data is stored locally in your browser using Chrome's secure storage API
• No data is transmitted to external servers
• No cloud storage or remote databases are used
• No personal information is collected or stored

Data Usage

Your data is used exclusively to:

• Display your productivity analytics
• Generate daily/weekly summaries
• Provide personalized check-in reminders
• Export your timesheet data (CSV format)

Data Sharing

• We do not share, sell, or transmit your data to any third parties
• No analytics or tracking services are integrated
• No advertising networks have access to your information
• Your data never leaves your device

Data Control

You have complete control over your data:

• View all stored data through the extension interface
• Export your data as CSV files anytime
• Delete specific days or all data through reset options
• Uninstall the extension removes all stored data permanently

Permissions Explained

TimeWise requests these Chrome permissions:

• storage - Store your preferences and task data locally
• activeTab - Detect website context for task logging
• idle - Check if you're actively working (prevents interruptions)
• scripting - Display check-in popups on web pages
• alarms - Schedule periodic check-in reminders
• downloads - Enable CSV export functionality

Security

• Data is encrypted using Chrome's built-in security measures
• No network connections are made by the extension
• No external scripts or resources are loaded
• Extension follows Chrome's security best practices
